A lovely dry sunny morning, perfect weather for paying rugby. Several players were absent this week and all players were required to play for longer than previous games. This especially applied to the forwards as we were especially down in these numbers.
The game started poorly as we went quickly down by 2 tries. The team rallied well and pulled one back by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter continued with good team player, but one managed to draw the quarter leaving the score 2 – 3 at half time.
The second half saw a couple of players stepping up to play in different positions from normal and despite the teams best effort, we went a full try down. By the last quarter the players had been playing for longer than previous games, but this didn't show with 2 team tries. Scores all level going into the last play, unfortunately Longton managed to break through the defense and score.
A hard fought game, but ALL THE PLAYERS showed commitment and effort. One of our best team performances despite the lose.
