Stafford 7 Vs Bromsgrove 45

Stafford as the score suggests came up and opponent who was will drilled, played with structure and when offered an opportunity, they took it. There will be days like this playing division 1 where you just have to accept they were the better team.
Having said that, there were a number of positives;
Kick Offs were challenged well and dealt with each time, especially Farai who took the ball and the hit but still presented the ball.
At times hands went wide to the right and then to the left with ground being made and considering the damp conditions players were trusting their hands at pace.
The scrum, especially first half was competitive with Ashton causing his opposite number some problems and the lineout went pretty well.
At the breakdown, it was a mix but, on the whole, it went well with Danail, Jonah and Logan getting through plenty of work, I think I counted 5 occasions where Jonah got through from the gate and had hands on ball.
The tackling and defensive line at time was good but wasn’t always consistent, however Jake and Fin certainly left their marks on the opposition.
Kayden carried well and George set him away with a sumptuously timed ball as he took the ball in midfield, carried forward set the man and popped the ball through the gap.
Morgan kicked well into space and our chase kept Bromsgrove pinned back on a number of occasions.
Freddie as always was solid at the back and then switched to 9 and still maintained the same high level.
So, lets not dwell on the negatives, look at the positives, at what you as a player did well, maintain that level and those things that (and be honest) you can work on, that’s you goal at training and in the next match.
Talking of which, we have two this weekend, a home visit from Leek who we know will bring all their players, and away back to Brum on Sunday for another league game.
