Wheaton Aston Penkridge 34 – 12 Stafford

Stafford Vets travelled the short distance down the A449 for an opening encounter against Wheaton Aston Penkridge. The Vets travelled with a squad of only 14 and it was always going to be a tough afternoon against the team which were league runners up last season.
The Vets remained in close contention throughout the whole game, losing out eventually to a couple of late tries. The second half saw Stafford put together a series of phases that put the home side on the Back foot.
