Whittington 38 – 19 Stafford
Stafford ended 2015 with a trip to nearby Lichfield to face Whittington in the league. Stafford fielded a very youthful team and hoped to use this to their advantage at every opportunity. Unfortunately, the home team were well organised and used their driving maul to good effect to score the opening two tries. Stafford responded well with some sustained pressure, which resulted in Jack Ball powering over for their first score, converted by James Brown. Whittington hit back and extended their lead through another converted try and a penalty to leave the half time score as Whittington 24 - 7 Stafford.
The second half began much better for Stafford as the pack began to dominate their opposition. Both teams traded tries as the light began to fade. Both Stafford tries were scored by Callum Hoy with James Brown converting one of them. The second try was a superb individual effort as he received the ball just inside the opposition's half and proceeded to power his way through and over a trio of Whittington defenders to score.
