It may be the quiet season of mists and mellow fruitfulness but Stafford U18 Panthers were firing on all cylinders and emerged victorious from a foggy Lutterworth v Market Harborough/Lutterworth
With both squads reduced in numbers it was going to be all hands to the pump with players playing out of position and uncontested scrums from the start.
However, Stafford played with heart and put on a full team performance. In attack the link up play and off loads were determined and skilled. Whilst in defence line speed and tackling were fierce and relentless. Notable tackling came from Izzy, Esme, Anya and Esmee with Tink driving forward and being awarded a well deserved forward of the day.
Handling and movement in the backs was sublime which lead to a five try feast for Freya; earning herself back of the day. She was joined by Georgia, Niamh and Izzy in putting their names to the score board. Solid conversions by Katy and Niamh enabled the Panthers to walk away with an impressive 60-25 win.
A great team performance and particular recognition should go to all players who played out of position and ensuring this was a great team effort .
