Four ladies teams gathered at Longton rugby club on Wednesday night for the opening bout in a quadruple series of games over the upcoming weeks. Hosts Longton fielded an experienced squad of players and were joined by representatives from Stafford, Stoke & Longton.

With a team of six on the pitch each team had plenty of subs apart from Stone, so all sides lent players to ensure a great evening of rugby. The tournament saw six very competitive and entertaining games of touch rugby. The evening ended in a Stafford vs Stafford game which was settled with a single try to give Stafford the win.

The next round of the tournament is at Stone RUFC on Monday 15th July. All players welcome or if you fancy a go at touch rugby it runs as a mixed session on a Wednesday night or ladies only on a Friday night.
